101 Spring Street
New York, NY

Judd Foundation is pleased to celebrate the 50th anniversary of New York City’s Landmarks Preservation Law with a tour of 101 Spring Street, featuring opening remarks by cast iron specialist Robert Bates of Walter B Melvin Architects, who oversaw the comprehensive restoration of the building’s façade from 2006 to 2013. For this ticketed program, Bates provides an overview of the unique features of the 1870 façade, and methods employed to study and restore it.

101 Spring Street is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a contributing building to the SoHo Cast-Iron Historic District, and the only surviving single-use cast iron building of its era in the district, which was first designated in 1973.
