Alex Kitnick discusses the relationship between the paintings by Donald Judd from 1959-1961, currently on view at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami, and the prints Judd made during the same time period.

This talk is part of the Spring 2018 public programs in New York that explore aspects of Donald Judd’s work. The talk series coincides with 15 x 105 x 15, an exhibition of extruded aluminum works by Judd on the ground floor of 101 Spring Street. All events are free and open to the public.

Alex Kitnick, The Brant Foundation Fellow in Contemporary Arts, is an art historian and critic based in New York. He received his Ph.D. from the Department of Art & Archaeology at Princeton University and was a postdoctoral fellow at the Getty Research Institute in Los Angeles. An editor of numerous volumes, including a collection of John McHale’s writings, The Expendable Reader: Articles on Art, Architecture, Design, and Media, 1951–1979, and October 136 on New Brutalism, he is also a frequent contributor to publications including ArtforumMayOctober, and Texte zur Kunst.
