Monday, May 14
6:30pm
101 Spring Street
New York, NY

Writer and artist Jarrett Earnest in conversation with artists Anna Betbeze and Simone Kearney to discuss language associated with the colors, shapes, and material present in the exhibition 15 x 105 x 15.

This talk is part of the Spring 2018 public programs in New York that explore aspects of Donald Judd’s work. The talk series coincides with 15 x 105 x 15, an exhibition of extruded aluminum works by Judd on the ground floor of 101 Spring Street. All events are free and open to the public.

Anna Betbeze is an artist known for her use of textile, which she dyes, cuts, scorches, shaves, and otherwise distresses, transforming them into lush, oversized, painting-like wall hangings. She teaches in the painting department at the Yale School of art.

Jarrett Earnest is an artist and writer known for long-form interview and experimental art writing. His new book, What it Means to Write about Art: interviews with art critics, will be published this fall by David Zwirner Books.

Simone Kearney is an artist and poet whose work flows between sculpture, painting, and text, united by a rigorous emotional intensity. Her book, My Ida, was published last year by Ugly Duckling Presse.
