The AdeC brand was designed by  Judd for his ranch south of Marfa which named Ayala de Chinati. The name incorporates the Basque word, Ayala, which denotes a region where slope and meadow meet. Designed by Judd as a ranch branding iron, the brand appears on the exterior of Judd’s Ranch Office in Marfa.

The brand is the used as part of the identity of Donald Judd Furniture.
