In 1989, Judd purchased his last and largest ranch holding two houses, a studio, a bunkhouse, lava rock corrals, and concentric circles of stone for a garden and tank.

In 1976, Judd purchased Casa Morales located at the base of Chinati Peak, about 60 miles from Marfa in Presidio County.

Following his acquisition of Casa Morales, Judd purchased Casa Perez, an adobe structure from the early 1900s located directly off of Pinto Canyon Road about 45 miles outside of Marfa in Presidio County.
