Brad Lancaster believes that cities around the world can live off rainwater. This is the story of how he transformed his neighborhood by experimenting with water harvesting, worked with the city to legalize those methods, and has empowered others by proving that abundance rooted in sustainability is possible.

Brad Lancaster has run a permaculture and regenerative design, consulting, and education business focused on integrated and sustainable approaches to landscape design, planning, and living since 1993. He believes that we all can become more conscious beneficial stewards of the land, and partners in the ecosystem in which we live and that by harvesting water we can all begin to transform our households and neighborhoods from being consumers of resources to generators—and even regenerators—of resources. Brad is the author of “Rainwater Harvesting for Drylands and Beyond” and in 2021 he was awarded Citizen Forester of the Year by the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management.
